Casino Party Games - Craps
Betting on Dice
Craps is one of the most exciting casino table games. In casinos, you often hear players cheering for their favorite numbers. You can bet for or against the roller. Craps can be intimidating to new players, so Casino Party Aces' dealers take the time to explain all the rules.
How to Play Craps - The Basics
First off, let's talk about the basics. Craps is a dice game. Craps uses two six-sided dice. When added together the possible numbers that can be rolled are 2 through 12. The game revolves around these numbers and the probability of those numbers being rolled.
The Craps layout can look complicated. Craps has many facits to the game, thus the busy layout, however the basic game of Craps is quite simple. The basic bet in Craps is called the Pass Line Bet. The first roll in a Craps game is called the come-out roll. If the shooter rolls a 7 or a 11, then everyone on the Pass Line wins even money. If the shooter rolls a 2, 3 or 12, then everyone on the Pass Line loses. If it was not any of those numnbers, then it was a 4,5,6,8,9,or 10 and that number becomes what is called the Point. Shooter then contines to roll hoping to roll the point again to win, before rolling a 7 to lose. After the shooter rolls the point or a 7, the game is over and is reset.
Odds Bet; The Best Bet in a Casino
The best bet in a Casino Party Aces theme party casino or a real casino for that matter, is the Odds Bet or Behind the Line Bet. In Craps once you have placed a Pass Line bet, you have the opportunity to place a Odds Bet. The odds bet is additional money wagered as part of your Pass Line bet, but instead of just paying even money, it pays true odds! This means there is no house advantage. To place an Odds Bet, just place an additional wager behind your Pass Line bet. Depending on what the point is, this additional wager will pay "odds"; 2 to 1 when the point is 4 or 10, 3 to 2 when the point is 5 or 9, and 6 to 5 when the point is 6 or 8.
The Dark Side
The Don't Pass Bet is just like the Pass Line bet, however you are betting the shooter will not pass, or in other words they will lose. This bet is often chosen when the player thinks the shooter is unlucky.
Placing Bets
Another popular bet in Craps in the Place Bet. With a Place Bet a player can choose the bet on any of the point number directly. To male a Place Bet, place the money on the table and tell the dealer which number you would lile to bet on. In a real casino place bets pay 9 to 5 on the 4 and 10, 7 to 5 on the 5 and 9, and 7 to 6 on the 6 and 8. At Casino Party Aces we pay true odd on all place bets. Lucky for you!
Proposition Bets
In the center of the Craps table is an area called the Proposition Bets, or Prop Bets. These bets are long-odds bets. These bets don't win often, but pay big when they do hit. One popular Prop Bet is the Hardways bets. Hardaways are when the dice roll doubles; like 3 and 3 for a 6, or 4 and 4 for an 8. Hardways bets win only when the dice roll exactly a doubles version of a 4 (2 and 2), 6 (3 and 3), 8 (4 and 4) or 10 (5 and 5). They lose if 7 is rolled or a "easy" version of the number is rolled like a 4 and 2 for 6, or 6 and 4 for a 10. This bet is also placed through the dealer.
Other popular Prop Bets are Craps (2, 3, or 12), Yo! (11), Big Red (7), Horn (2,3,11,12). These are all one-roll bets. You either win or lose every time the dice are rolled.
The Field
Another easy bet in Craps is the Field Bet. The Field Bet is placed by the player and located just above the Plass/Don't Pass Line. The Field is a one role bet. If a 3,4,9,10,11 is rolled you win even money. If it is a 2 or 12 you win double. If a 5,6,7 or 8 is rolled, you lose.
